First UMC Sealy Youth Ministry
Youth at First UMC is a ministry for youth in 6th-12th grades and their families. Our mission reflects the mission of FUMC: Caring for the needs of our church and community through prayer, deeds, inspiration and love in the Spirit of Christ. We work to connect youth to a greater life in Christ by giving them a place where they can experience Unconditional Love, Unconditional Community, Unconditional Service and Unconditional Grace. First Youth meet Wednesdays at 4:30 pm.
Confirmation
Confirmation offers our youth an opportunity to learn what it means to be a Christian through the United Methodist Church. Held every year, the class enables youth in grades 6th and 8 to explore faith more deeply. Our focus is on experiential learning through field trips and other outside-the-classroom activities. We also seek to model faith for our youth through relationships between the youth and adult mentors.
Vacation Bible School
A fun, faith-filled week where kids and adults get to know Jesus better through music, story, games, and activities. Open to all kids ages 3 years-5th grade (children must be potty trained to attend), we also rely heavily on our Youth as volunteers. In asking teens to lead others, faith formation is magnified for our youth in ways that I never could have imagined.
