March 6, at 7 pm Ash Wednesday Service Lent is a time of self-examination, repentance, self-denial, conversion and growth. It lasts for forty days, excluding Sundays, and begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on the Saturday before Easter. At its heart Lent is a journey into wholeness — a participation in God’s mission of redemption. Sometimes things happen in our lives that cause us to be awakened to a new perspective and we begin to reassess the life road we are following, the directions we are going. Join us Ash Wednesday where we'll “repent” (which literally means to turn around and head in a new direction).
Yet even now, says the LORD, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; rend your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the LORD, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and relents from punishing. - Joel 2: 12-13
