Captain Koym Celebration

Join us as we celebrate a true community legend! Sunday, July 26, 2026 during our regular worship service, we'll honor longtime church treasurer, Russell Koym, with a very special gift and recognition. Directly following the Sunday service, we’ll host a Cake & Ice Cream Social to celebrate the retiring volunteer for his nearly 20 years of service at First UMC Sealy. ⚓🍨🎉 We'd love for you to join us.

Russell graduated from Sam Houston State University then served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 26 years (achieving the rank of Captain). He then practiced as a local CPA and served as the Mayor of Sealy, before dedicating nearly 20 years of voluntary service to managing our church finances. 

Come help us give the "Captain of our Church" the giant thank-you he deserves!
